OFF TEMPO, the NW’s music documentation project / publisher of neat artifacts, provides you with a night of enjoyable sonic diversity. Showcasing a slough of great local bands, this evening will take place in the Crocodile’s “backroom” or (sometimes referred to as) “that other stage that’s really cool, because it’s in an all-ages zoning.”
Special thanks to that special zoning and the Crocodile.
This show is ALL-AGES and a socially acceptable $5

Iji is the musical project of Zach Burba out of Seattle, Washington. Recently I was able to pick up his new 7in on OffTempo called “Bird-Man Movement Team”. In classic iji style it’s bursting with cool feel good twee pop jams. Really lovable music, easy to dance to super fun!
Viber is my personal favorite with a really cool sounding sax on it. I also really adore the water color cover portrait of Burba. Go pick this one up from OffTempo for a super rad time!

By now you should all probably know the name French Quarter or Stephen Steinbrink. The guy has been on the road for years now playing some of the most catchy and infectious tunes written to date. If you don’t know him, well here is your chance to get to. French Quarter just finished recording a new record called “Desert Wasn’t Welcome” and it’s out now on OffTempo on 12” Vinyl. On this record Andrew Dorsett of LAKE joins French Quarter along with talented Phoenix locals Chase Kamp and Preston Bryant.
The eleven songs on Desert Wasn’t Welcome retain the pop feel of Steinbrink’s past releases however Steinbrink explores his experimental side a lot more on tracks like, “Dead Flowers” and “Creosote”. The album flows relatively flawlessly, and maintains a really warm feel throughout. My personal favorite tracks on this one are “Goodbye Alligator Skin”, “Creosote”, and “Red State”. This is one of the best albums of 2011 don’t miss it!
